Analogix Receives VESA® Certification Logo for DisplayPort™ TCON Receivers Supporting Notebook PC and Direct Drive Monitors(DDM) Solutions
Analogix Semiconductor Inc. a world leader in high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and IP solutions, today received DisplayPort certification logo from VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) for the Analogix ANX9850 DisplayPort TCON Receiver. The ANX9850 device passed an extensive qualification testing program by VESA-authorized independent testing lab Allion in Taiwan gaining logo certified product status.

Analogix Sues Silicon Image, Inc. for Antitrust Violations
Analogix Semiconductor, Inc., a manufacturer and innovator of high-performance analog and mixed signal devices for the digital media and communications markets, has sued Silicon Image, Inc. and two of its wholly-owned subsidiaries - HDMI Licensing, LLC, and Simplay Labs, LLC - for violating federal and state antitrust laws and state consumer protection statutes in connection with their control over and access to the HDMI standard and HDMI testing facilities.

Analogix Becomes First Discrete Chip Supplier to Receive VESA® DisplayPort Certified Logo for Transmitter Products
Analogix Semiconductor, Inc. a world leader in high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and IP solutions, today became the first discrete chip supplier to receive the DisplayPort certified logo from VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) for a commercially-available transmitter product. The Analogix ANX9805 DisplayPort Transmitter device passed an extensive qualification test by VESA-authorized independent testing lab Allion and becomes the first standalone product of its type to be able to feature the DisplayPort logo.

The CoolHD™ technology consumes less than 50mw while supporting resolutions up to 720p and 1080i, and utilizes zero power at 480p resolution. Once released, the new CoolHD power-optimized HDMI transmitter technology will be offered in sub 0.18um CMOS process.

Court Denies Silicon Image’s Request to Preliminarily Enjoin Sales of Analogix Semiconductor’s HDMI Chips
Analogix Semiconductor, Inc., announced today that the U.S. District Court recently denied Silicon Image, Inc.’s request for a preliminary injunction. Silicon Image had previously asked the Court to order Analogix to stop selling certain of its HDMI chips, claiming that Analogix had misappropriated Silicon Image’s alleged trade secrets. The Court denied Silicon Image’s request, stating that “the evidence gives rise to serious questions on the merits as to this claim.”

The ANX9840 DisplayPort receiver offers robust support for the next-generation display interconnect standard for monitors, notebooks, and consumer electronics. The ANX9840 features an integrated LCD timing controller (TCON) that supports the VESA® DisplayPort Specification v1.1a and adopts the standard FPD monitor interconnect to replace VGA, DVI and LVDS in high resolution, high-refresh rate panel applications.

Analogix Denies All Charges in Lawsuit Filed by
Silicon Image
Last week, Silicon Image, Inc. filed a lawsuit against Analogix Semiconductor, Inc. in federal court in California. Analogix denies all allegations of wrongdoing. Analogix has great respect for the intellectual property rights of others and has always taken appropriate steps to prevent any misappropriation. Analogix has been successfully delivering its transmitter and receiver architectures since 2003 and is a licensed adopter in good standing of HDMI Licensing LLC. Analogix thus has all the necessary intellectual property rights to manufacture and sell its products, including the products that are named in the suit.
