ANALOGIX SHOWCASES LATEST DISPLAYPORT SOLUTIONS AT CES 2008

Digital media interface leader shows newest suite of feature-rich chips
for high-definition PC and CE displays

CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW - LAS VEGAS, Nev. – January 7, 2008 – At the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Analogix Semiconductor, Inc., a world leader in high performance digital media interface solutions, is showcasing a broad range of DisplayPort-compliant digital interface system-on-chip (SoC) devices.

The company will show the latest versions of its DisplayPort transmitter and receiver chips that are fully compliant with the DisplayPort Version 1.1a specification. Several of the products offer dual standard support, including HDMI 1.3 and DVI technology.  These chips support deep color (36pp) for both DisplayPort and HDMI interfaces.  DisplayPort is a digital audio/video interconnect standard, intended to be used primarily between a computer and its display monitor or a computer and a home-theater system, and it will allow developers to replace LVDS, DVI and eventually VGA display interfaces.

Featured products for Analogix at CES 2008 include:

  • ANX9805™ DisplayPort transmitter that supports both DisplayPort and HDMI with a high performance solution for either graphic card or embedded PC and CE applications

  • ANX9813™ DisplayPort receiver with LVDS output

  • ANX9840™ DisplayPort receiver that features an integrated LCD timing controller (TCON) (See separate press release for more detail)

“More and more OEMs and ODMs are adopting next generation high definition interface standards such as DisplayPort and legacy HDMI that promise significant benefits to consumers and an improvement in the overall multimedia experience in both PCs and consumer electronics. Our strategy is to support both specifications with high performance solutions that enable the true benefits of DisplayPort and HDMI, delivering highly integrated video and audio interface solutions,” said Bryan Greear, VP of Marketing at Analogix. “The latest versions of our receiver and transmitter products offer enhanced features that truly leverage these digital connectivity standards, as well as provide critical power management capabilities that are important to consumer and portable applications.”

Analogix will participate in the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA®), DisplayPort TechZone pavilion (booth #71857) at CES, and a DisplayPort press event on Tuesday, January 8 at 10:45 AM at the Venetian Hotel.  Exclusive demonstrations will be held at Booth 70241 “Meeting Place” at the Sands Exposition and Convention Center.
