Custom Options –IP Cores and ASIC services

High-volume consumer electronics products often require custom display chips to meet specific power, performance, functionality, and cost requirements. A growing number of global electronics manufacturers have recognized Analogix's expertise in mixed-signal circuit design and used our full-custom, semi-custom, and turnkey application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) services to develop specialized devices for a wide array of applications that combine performance and reliability with low power and low cost.

Analogix also offers a wide range of DisplayPort, HDMI, SerDes, and power-saving CoolHD™ transmitter designs as IP cores for a variety of silicon geometries and processes. Our highly accomplished mixed-signal design team has successfully implemented these cores across foundry processes ranging from 180 nm to 32 nm.

IP cores available for license include:

  • DisplayPort Transmitter. Fully compliant with DisplayPort 1.1a HDCP content-protection specifications, its 36-bit video interface includes EIA/CEA-861D video timing and built-in self test (BIST), while its digital audio interface includes S/PDIF and I2S audio inputs, and supports PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS digital audio transmission.

  • Dual-Mode DisplayPort Transmitter. Compliant with both DisplayPort 1.1a and the HDMI 1.3 standard with HDCP content protection, this dual-mode transmitter IP core combines both high-performance analog (equalizer, PLL, DLL, CDR, etc.) and complex logic design (HDCP engine, TMDS decoder, video and audio data processing). It supports Deep Color up to 36 bits per pixel (bpp) for more realistic image rendering. Its video interface includes 24/30/36/48 bpp video modes, EIA/CEA-861D video timing and BIST, and its S/PDIF and I2S audio inputs support PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS digital audio.

  • HDMI 1.4 Transmitter. This digital-plus-analog PHY IP core contains a flexible video interface, an advanced digital audio interface, and is ideal for DVD and Blu-Ray disc players, set-top boxes, and A/V receivers. It supports 36 bpp Deep Color and 24/30/36/48 bpp video modes as well as BIST and full HDCP 1.3 encryption. Its S/PDIF, I2S and one-bit super audio interfaces support all relevant formats, including PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS digital audio, for up to eight channels of compressed and lossless audio.
